Who knows if she even knows Christ, but a woman over-heard one of my littlest crying. She leaned in and said, with a kind smile, "my son carried on much louder through store aisles all the time-and next week he graduates with top-honors from law school." She said that when she asked her boy how he turned out so well he said, "Mom, you loved me. You never broke my spirit". The woman finished the conversation by telling me to "keep lovin 'em- they'll be great one day". I teared up. Little did she know that I was seeing God speaking through her, to me.
I took a jog in the rain a bit ago and wept long and hard for my sin and my child's. I asked God to give me a bit of insight tonight. That request brought me to 1 Corinthians 13, "the love chapter".
Love is patient,
Love is kind,
It does not envy.
It does not boast.
It is not proud,
It is not rude.
It is not self-seeking
It is not easily angered.
It keeps no records of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil,
but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
It always trusts,
Always hopes,
Always perseveres.
Love NEVER fails~
My child and I are going to start a journey together helping one another delight in the truth of this chapter in the Word of God.
God is awesome, Jamie, and He will help you in this journey with your child. Just learn to lean on Him.
